Addressing financial risk is a concern for organizations in almost every industry. Successful organizations have the people, processes, technologies and strategies in place to identify, assume and manage risks before they become problems.

 

Industry events and recent OCC pronouncements on the U.S. Basel II Capital Accord has many financial institutions improving its current credit and operational risk practices and capabilities.



Risk Services include:

Credit and Market Risk Management assessments

Risk Management process and platform development

Risk Architecture

Facilitating businesses requirement gathering and Risk transformation specification

Assisting Technical Teams with specifications, requirements aggregation, BA support, and testing

Developing or validating economic capital models and KRIs

Managing blended onshore/offshore development teams JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The Senior Manager of Business Risk will be responsible for supporting the client’s overall Risk initiatives by developing and implementing risk programs, architectures, and platforms.  The role will provide content to the business teams of our clients.  This position will play an important role in the overall project management of multiple strategic projects, from planning through execution, including development of project sponsor and stakeholder requirements, project reporting and knowledge management.

 

This role provides significant exposure to senior level management in each of the business units and the Risk steering committee.  The candidate will be expected to develop lasting relationships and be seen as the go-to person for the Risk effort.  Managers develop contacts within the business community and serve as ambassadors in the market. 

   

·    A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the financial, operational, technical, and regulatory environment across multiple lines-of-business in financial services.

·    Experience with risk management, compliance, audit, business consulting, and project management for global financial services firms or clients

·    Strong project management experience with complex, cross-discipline projects

·    Finance knowledge with exposure to Fixed Income, Equity, Option, MBS/ABS, and other securities

·    Prior management and direct supervisory experience in a team environment required

·    Excellent client relationship skills

·    Strong project management skills

·    Demonstrated excellent leadership, mentoring and people development skills

·    Must be able to handle highly confidential information in a strictly professional manner

·    Must be able to maintain professional demeanor in times of high stress

 



 Knowledge of Credit Risk regulatory requirements, methodologies, operations, and/or systems

·    Knowledge of Operational Risk regulatory requirements methodologies, operations, and/or systems

·    Experience in system Requirements Gathering in a financial setting

 

EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS

 

·    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Technology

·    8+ years of related experience

·    Professional certifications and consulting experience a plus

 

ABILITY TO TRAVEL

 

·    The position is based in New York

·    Travel throughout the month frequently required based on client requests/commitments
