Senior Level Accountant

MWH Americas, Inc., a leading provider of environmental engineering, construction, and strategic consulting services, is accepting applications for a Senior Level Accountant to join our growing International Development Team in Washington, DC. The selected individual will:

1. Prepare cost proposals and manage resulting contract and/or task order budgets from concept to completion

2. Prepare and input contract and task order setup, project budgets, and sub agreements into Enterprise One system

3. Provide coordination of the flow of contract data between internal offices and central accounting

4. Setup and coordinate project accounting systems and, if necessary, train selected associates to perform necessary daily accounting functions in support of the project

5. Project budget oversight, to include accounts receivable and payable, and general account management of multiple contract and contract task orders

6. Ensure worldwide compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, SEC regulations, Sarbanes Oxley, and internal MWH accounting policies and practices

7. Collaborate with management to develop and implement project accounting policies, processes, and procedures to streamline efficiencies and ensure accuracy

8. Work with all levels of leadership and develop and maintain strong business relationships with global finance and accounting peers and business operations

9. Manage business unit budget and prepare related financial reports, account analysis, and reconciliation

10. Execute regular and standardized closing activities and duties

12. Respond to inquiries from management, peers, auditors, and other authorities regarding accounting issues, data in financial reports, and financial statements

13. Possess the ability to travel internationally to job sites as needed (anticipated travel less than 10% annually)Experience - Preferred candidate will possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance, with a Master's Degree in applicable field preferred. CPA certification a plus.
A minimum of 7 to 10 years hands-on corporate accounting and/or finance and budgetary experience.
External candidates must possess USAID cost experience; Internal candidates, USAID cost experience preferred.
Currency exchange experience preferred.
Foreign language skills a plus.
Solid verbal and written communication skills required, with an emphasis on problem resolution.
Ability to make and execute decisions made with a strong business acumen.
