JOB SUMMARY
This Sr. HR Specialist positions on the Escalation Team (ET) which is part of our HR People Center. The position will focus on assisting with more difficult Human Resources and Payroll questions or in solving more complex associate issues. Additionally, the position will take the lead on writing & updating training & support materials and the HR intranet portal pages. They will also provide support in key HR functions, like benefits enrollment and ongoing HR tasks.
JOB DUTIESCommunicate via phone, email and chat with associates requiring assistance or information. Interpret associates' needs and utilize knowledge base, software programs, and tools to identify possible resolutions, as well as drawing on Human Resources expertise and process knowledge to resolve issues. Resolve escalated associate and manager inquiries or issues and follow up with prompt and accurate resolution. Issues will be complex and may involve sensitive information. Follow up with associates via phone, email and chat requiring assistance or information. Use advanced problem solving skills to resolve issues when established policy, process, system or data does not address inquiry or issue. Use software programs, tools, and computer systems to document and track issues. Document and communicate to management any recurring or significant problems or issues with any policies or processes supported as encountered through contacts. Draft communication to affected HR teams or associates to notify them of issues or help in resolution of future issues. Provide formal training and day-to-day mentoring to other People Center team members. Effectively utilize and maintain HR systems which may include databases or software programs such as People Soft. Compile, track, analyze and summarize data for human resources programs and processes. Partner with vendor to troubleshoot issues, maintain and/or administer HR processes. Creates and improves administrative and/or Human Resources processes. Function as a resource in providing new hire training, and re-training for new and existing associates. At the request of the manager, assist with daily or monthly team meetings. Perform oversight of team workflow. Help to ensure that incoming and follow-up interactions are handled properly and are accurately documented. Troubleshoot HR systems and processes, as appropriate to support the associates or managers using them. Use company software programs and computer systems to accurately document and track associate issues. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Associates degree in business or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· A minimum of 3 years Human Resources experience.
· Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Effective demonstration of the H&R Block Block Behaviors (core competencies)
· Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
· Strong problem solving skills, using several systems, data sources, policies and processes to identify solutions. Ability to apply solutions across multiple different scenarios and to update processes or procedures based on learnings.
· Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and professionalism.
· Ability to complete tasks within deadlines and communicate progress.
· High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information handled.
· Demonstrated orientation toward quality and client-focused behavior.
