Job Summary

The General Accounting Supervisor accountant works within the Corporate Finance Organization reporting into the Corporate General Accounting Manager. This accountant will be a key contributor in maintaining the consolidated general ledger and related reconciliations as well as driving monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes. Corporate accounting tasks will be shared with Senior GL accountants.

This position requires a good understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and GAAP, the ability to meet deadlines, and to efficiently interact with various groups across the company as well as outside of the company. Job Functions

Perform monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for US and temporarily for international accounts.

Develop monthly, quarterly and annual worldwide consolidated Financial Statements in compliance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.

Actively participate in reporting system design and on-going enhancement with emphasis on decreasing closing days and process improvements.

Maintain quarterly Balance Sheet flux template as well as provide quarterly variation analysis for certain accounts in balance sheet and income statement.

Prepare schedules for external auditors, SOX and 10-Q/K as requested ensuring accurate and timely preparation of finance information.

Maintain General Ledger system as to new accounts, departments and business units.

Assist in the accounting integration relative to new acquisitions.

Temporarily responsible for the coordination with certain foreign office accounting personnel to obtain, analyze and record periodic financial activity. Address and attend to foreign accounting issues, questions and/or requests. Ensure prompt and proper processing of funding requests for such offices.

Temporarily work with certain foreign offices and corporate tax department to provide necessary assistance and support to comply with local audits, governmental tax return deadlines and other such statutory requirements.

Prepare GAAP accounting entries for Stock Based Compensation under FAS 123 R

Development of Budget and Financial Forecast for Stock Based Compensation

Give direction to staff accountants as needed in various accounting matters.

Update existing policies and procedures for areas of responsibility if necessary.

Position will supervise a staff accountant.

Other Responsabilities

Perform duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or any member of the Dolby management team, subject to approval by direct manager and/or Vice President.

Perform tasks necessary to complete performance objectives.

Assist team members as needed.

Skills and Education

BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required.

CPA candidate highly desired but relevant work experience will be considered.

Experience with FAS 123R is a must.

Strong Excel skills required along with experience with mainframe or client server based accounting and reporting systems. Prior experience with PeopleSoft desirable.

Minimum 6+ years experience in accounting profession with increasing levels of accounting related responsibilities. Experience with working in an accounting group of a public company preferable.

Ability to work independently and to analyze, investigate and resolve accounting related issues with internal company personnel and external sources as necessary.
