Job: Senior Financial Analyst – U.S. Sales & Marketing

Department: Finance



This person is the primary point of contact for financial support of the U.S. Sales and Marketing groups. They are responsible for building quarterly departmental budgets, managing spending to the budget, and explaining variances. Further, they play a critical role in driving business decisions by performing advanced-level analyses and modeling, preparing and interpreting metrics, identifying drivers of business opportunities and risks, making process improvements, and proposing solutions to financial issues. This person partners with the VPs of Sales and Marketing and their staff to provide financial guidance and assistance, and sound business advice.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities Include:

* Performing Month End Close for Sales and Marketing Operating Expense Departments

* Preparing Metrics on Sales Commissions and Performing Sensitivity Analysis

* Discussing the Implications of Monthly Actual Spending Versus Forecast with Budget Owners

* Driving Quarterly Forecast Cycles and Getting Inputs from Stakeholders to Build the Budget and Providing “What if� Scenarios

* Providing Revised Estimate/Outlook of Current Quarter Spending Levels

* Supporting the Project Management Process with Project Costing and ROI Analysis

* Modeling Strategic Initiatives

* Building Bottoms-Up Annual Operating Plan Budgets for Sales and Marketing

* Performing Ad Hoc Analysis, Modeling, and/or Metrics for Business Partners

* Delivering Presentations on Financial Concepts, Processes, and Proposals to Business Partners

 

Education and Experience:

Previous FP&A and Cross-Functional Business Partnership Experience

Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting

MBA Preferred, but not Required

5 to 7 Years of Professional Experience in a Finance or Accounting Role

Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills

Strong Analytical Skills and Business Acumen

Familiarity with Hyperion Pillar a Plus
