Senior Budget Analyst
Under the general supervision of the Finance Manager, the Budget Analyst is responsible for management of the annual corporate budget planning process including reviewing budget, performing in-depth analysis of budget requests; reviewing past and current budgets, researching economic and financial developments affecting organizational spending; and forecasting next year's budget needs. The Budget Analyst is also responsible for developing core budget constraints, conducting training sessions on new budget procedures, preparing budget report presentations, and advising managers on status and availability of funds for budgeted activities. Bachelor's Degree required with a major in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Five to seven years experience in budgeting, planning and financial analyses is required. Experience in a healthcare system preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of different budgeting techniques and related analytical tools preferably utilizing an automated budgeting system. Advanced skills in Excel and Access and proficiency in PowerPoint Ability to analyze situations, documents and data to gather information from appropriate sources, identify relevant factors and prepare recommendations. Able to perform special studies/project which require independent judgment and initiative. Must have strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, and work well in a team-oriented environment. Effective oral and written communication in English is essential. Ability to make explanatory and impromptu presentations, one-on -one or in front of a group. Able to multitask, meet deadlines, plan and prioritize workload and projects. Knowledge of auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and the healthcare industry preferred.
