Senior Associate, State and Local Tax

We are currently seeking a Senior Associate to join us in our Houston office. KPMG's State and Local Tax (SALT) practice needs more members for their Income Franchise team. KPMG's SALT practice assists clients as they work to reduce their tax liabilities and enhance the bottom line. As a national practice, SALT is committed to bringing some of the best professionals to each engagement and providing dynamic tax services to clients. Responsibilities: * Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax issues, including compliance, planning, and controversies * Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies including preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing the client at hearings and appeal meetings, and preparing protests * Research and draft technical memoranda regarding income and franchise tax questions Qualifications: * Three years of experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state tax or federal income tax issues * Income franchise advisory experience * Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting from an accredited college/university * Excellent writing, communication, and tax research skills * Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
