Senior Associate, Commercial Banking Advisory

We are currently seeking Associates/Senior Associates to join us in our Charlotte or Atlanta offices. Responsibilities for both positions: *High quality professional day-to-day execution of engagements and special projects *Complete quantitative and qualitative analysis *Assist financial services industry clients in assessing operational risks associated with executing, reporting, and transactional activity *Assess the internal controls process and advise clients on improvement plans *Support client engagements by understanding business problems, design, and conduct analyses, recommend services, and assist with the implementation by providing analytical support to practice and client leaders *Develop and sustain solid relationships with client personnel and identify opportunities to provide additional services *Contribute to design, preparation, and analysis of reports and findings in a clear, logical, and concise manner *Help to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls and related processes *Assist Partners and Senior Managers in the creation of proposals, business development, and practice administration Additional responsibilities for Senior Associate: *Supervise Associates and Interns *Serve as a mentor to Associates and new hires *Serve as a liaison between clients and upper management *Identify and communicate technical matters to both clients and upper management Qualifications for both positions: *BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university *One year of experience in the financial services industry with competencies in at least one of the following: Mortgage, Retail Banking, Payments or Wholesale Banking *One year of experience in the financial services industry with competencies in at least one of the following: Mortgage: Consumer Loans secured by real estate (this includes the underwriting, approval, servicing and collections); Retail Banking: Consumer deposits accounts, loans, individual retirement accounts (IRAs); Payments: Payments initiation, processing and settlement; Wholesale Banking: Cash management services (lockbox, fund management), merchant services, business banking services (deposits and loans), institutional trust and securities custody services to commercial and corporate institutions *Willingness and ability to travel as needed, at times with relatively short notice *Exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities *Strong proficiency in basic PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with a general understanding of data analysis techniques *Ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team *Excellent written and verbal communication skills *Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of Senior Executives *Entrepreneurial motivation to help continue to grow KPMG's presence in a broad marketplace *Client services orientation and able to take an active role in executing engagements *Ability to act autonomously while being a team player Additional qualifications for Senior Associate: *Three years of related work experience *Demonstrated supervisory experience *Well established understanding of business dynamics and operations KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
