Senior Administrative Assistant - Construction - Marsh - Washington, DC
Marsh's FACS Construction Consulting Practice has more than 50 employees, including professional engineers, certified public accountants, project managers, schedule experts, architects, attorneys, and contract specialists, who assist clients with construction risk assessment, transfer, management, and recovery. The practice currently has 10 offices located throughout the U.S. and growing internationally.
The FACS Construction Consulting Practice is a part of Marsh, which has 26,000 employees and annual revenues approaching $5 billion, serving more clients in more industries than any firm in our industry. We work with businesses, public entities, organizations and private clients in over 100 countries.
Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant will work closely with our office leaders, billing specialists and marketing specialists to help execute their responsibilities. This is an internal support role that is very important to our practice. Performance expectations are high as this role, although administrative, comes with a great deal of responsibility. The applicant will, among other things, assist in the following areas:
Project Management
Develop and maintain complete client project filesCompile and review client billingsManage engagement financial reportsManage project and new client set-upLearn and become proficient with all operating systems used to invoice and track projectsAssist billing specialists with the monthly invoicing process to ensure accuracy
Marketing
Assist with coordination of annual conferences and seminar eventsProposal response writing supportProspect and client list maintenancePresentation development supportQualification/Experience database supportAssistance with mass mailingsMarketing contact database administration
Administrative Support
Travel coordination and expenses for two practice leadersConference call and room set-upTime entry for billable colleaguesCheck requests for vendorsCopying, scanning, filing etc. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experiencePositive attitude, adaptable to change, desire to learn and demonstrated ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlinesStrong organizational and communication skills, including strong writing skillsExcellent time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively (with some direction)Ability to critically review and understand project files that contain basic financial information, correspondence and written client deliverablesPossess basic quantitative skills and proficient with numbersProficient computer skills - will work with MS platform (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint). Excel and Word skills a must, will allow for development and/or train in other areasPrior experience supporting a client service oriented businessThe ideal candidate should be a creative, innovative team player with an ability to work with professionals at all levels
