Senior Accountant Needed for Large West LA Co.!!

 

Rapidly growing company is West LA is seeking a stellar Senior Accountant to join a fun, fast paced team!

 

Responsible for:

· account analysis

· management reporting

· support for SEC filings

· technical accounting and analysis

 

POSITION DUTIES:  List 15 or less primary duties and responsibilities of the position in order of importance and time spent.  Begin each sentence with an action verb ending with an "s" e.g. directs, plans, controls.

· Assist with month end close

· Prepare and record all appropriate entries to reflect activity for the period

· Prepare, review and distribute financial reporting for the division

· Analytics and reporting

· Work with departmental users and develop a reporting package to facilitate review

· Prepare and analyze key metrics for the departments and studies

· Issue reporting to and review results with department leads

· Budgeting and forecasting

· Support the development of the annual budget

· Review results with business leaders and adjust forecast to reflect modified business situation

· Process improvement – review and propose improvements with respect to better controls and time efficiencies

· Control and review of balance sheet accounts

· Other processes as opportunity presents

· Work with auditors as needed – Quarterly & Annual reviews

· Ensure compliance with SOX requirements

· Participate in various ad hoc projects as directed

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: 

· Bachelors Degree in Accounting

· CPA a plus

· Masters degree management or finance desirable

· Ideal candidate has at least two years experience in public accounting with public companies followed by a role in the private sector, preferable with exposure to SEC reporting, financial consolidations and technical accounting.

· Strong management and communication skills

· Excellent computer skills, including expertise in Excel and Word.  Must be able to understand accounting systems of moderate complexity and be able to identify related issues and offer solutions for accounting and reporting issues.  Must be able to work quickly in ERP environment.

· SAP and Hyperion experience desirable

· Manufacturing and cost accounting experience desirable
