Senior Accountant (Duluth) - Manufacturing Company

Great Duluth-based company seeks a strong senior level Accountant with supervisory skills to join their finance team.  Position will involve full cycle accounting as well as financial reporting.  Company offers great benefits (including generous PTO, medical, dental, 401k, flexible spending, etc) and a business casual working environment.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelors in Accounting / Finance

Must be able to produce, read, and interpret basic financial statements.

At least 2-3 years progressive work experience in General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Account Reconciliation and Internal Controls

At least 1 year of supervisory experience

Demonstrated team player

 

 

Preferred experience:

Experience in billing, payroll, intercompany highly preferred.

Peachtree software highly preferred.

 

Description: Job Purpose:Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.  Assist with financial reporting and analysis relevant to company's operations.  Supervises work of two other staff.

 

 

Duties:Position requires knowledge of GAAP and all basic accounting functions (payroll, a/p, a/r, general ledger, fixed assets, etc).  Tasks will include general accounting duties such as account recon, bank reconciliation, preparing journal entries, etc.  In addition, senior accountant will supervise staff member responsible for billing and receivables function.  Ensures proper internal controls over key processes and takes acts to implement improvements.  Produces financial reporting packages, reviews trends, and makes recommendations.  Assist with monthly closing and yearend audit.  Strong organization, interpersonal and team skills needed.  May require occasional overtime.

 

Company plans to launch a new business unit in early '09 and this position will play an integral role in establishing policies and processes to ensure proper accounting.
