Senior Accountant

Stemgent , Inc. develops and manufactures innovative kits and reagents for stem cell biology research. Our rapidly expanding product line has helped to build our reputation as a leading provider of high-quality research tools for important and promising new areas of biological research. Stemgent is looking for a highly motivated, team orientated individual to join the Accounting team.
Key Skills and Requirements:

* Must have a BS/BA with a major in Accounting or Finance. CPA and/or MBA a plus.
* 2 + years of general accounting experience including bank and accounting reconciliations.
* Multi-tasking, attention to detail and very good interpersonal and communications skills.
* Knowledge of a production environment, including batch records, ERP systems and purchasing specifications is beneficial.
* Experience in NAV or other ERP programs a must.
* Strong Excel skills required.
* Must be able to independently troubleshoot and develop solutions for issues that arise.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
* General Accounting – Journal Entries, Bank and Account Reconciliations, License Accounting, Fixed Assets, Prepaids, Foreign Subsidiary (FAS52), Manufacturing Accounting, and Grant Accounting.
* Accounts Payable – Vendor management, 1099’s and policy & procedures. Ensure vendors are paid timely.
* Accounts Receivable – Vendor management, cash application, collections. Ensure vendors pay timely. We have high-end customers so only a gentle reminder that they are past due.
* Audit – help to prepare year-end audit schedules.
* Accounting Systems implementation and maintenance – NAV (a Microsoft product).
