Seasonal Tax Consultant (Full-time)

Veris Consulting, LLC is a rapidly growing firm in the Washington DC metro area that provides highly specialized accounting, financial and research services in particular market niches. We seek a full-time seasonal tax professional to assist our tax practice from approximately January 15 through April 15, 2009.

In this position, you will gain a variety of experience working with partnerships and closely-held LLCs, private corporations, high-net worth individuals, non-profit organizations and private corporations. This position may also include accounting consulting and special project work relating to small businesses.  You will have the opportunity to work closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise and interact often with firm executives and staff in the areas of client management and firm development. 

 Responsibilities:

·Perform individual, partnership, corporate and non-profit organization tax return compliance

· Resolve routine client tax questions

·Assist with tax planning for individual and business clients on recurring activities

·Research complex tax matters and preparing effective communications

·Consult with clients on non-recurring transactions, issues and controversies

·Assist in managing client relationships in selected industries

·Assist in proactive development of client engagements

Qualifications:

· BS or BBA in Accounting or Finance

· CPA credential not required

·Two years of tax experience preferred

·  Experience with Prosystems, CCH, Quickbooks and RIA a plus

·  Strong communication, organization, research and writing skills
