Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Supervisor

Do you have a passion for internal controls and helping others implement best practices?  If so, then consider becoming a part of the Circuit City team as a Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Supervisor on our Accounting team today! As the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Supervisor, you will review business processes, identify risks and controls and develop related audit procedures and execute field work as well as supervise and review work of direct reports.  This position will coordinate with the external auditors as needed.  This will require interaction with all levels of company personnel from staff through executive management.   Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Supervise Analysts team Assist business leaders with ensuring that process narratives are up-to-date and adequately discuss internal controls over financial reporting Design test plans to address newly added controls Assist in the development of sound recommendations to improve the various control environments Perform first level review of testing completed by the SOX Analyst and Division Analysts and provide Analysts with constructive and timely feedback Provide annual and as-needed SOX training to Analysts assisting with SOX Provide clear and concise status reports to the SOX Manager that communicates deliverables, progress, and results Preferred Education and/or Experience: Four-year degree in Accounting or business-related discipline Minimum three years experience in public accounting and/or internal audit; retail experience preferred Clear understanding of financial controls and SOX-related regulatory requirements Prior work experience with SOX compliance CPA or CIA Certification (or actively working toward certification with one or more parts completed) Technical Requirements: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Experience with PeopleSoft financials preferred If this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been looking for, take the next step to becoming a part of the Circuit City team!
