Sales and Use Tax Accountant

Growing Kansas City company is seeking a Sales and Use Tax Accountant for their rapidly expanding accounting department.  Candidates will have their accounting or related degree, as well as having significant experience with sales and use tax in multiple states.  Additional responsibilities include filing sales tax returns in a timely manner for up to 40 states.  Candidates also need to have ability to clean up the audit trail from the general ledger to the sales tax returns as a special project streamlining and smoothing out the process.  Prior experience with Vertex sales tax software is helpful, but not required.  The ability to work independently and autonomously is required along with a self-driven and motivated attitude.
