SR. TAX CONSULTANT

International Medical Device Company located in West LA is currently seeking a Sr. Tax Consultant!!!Job Description:Prepare, review, and provide supervision for preparation of corporate federal and state income tax, sales and use tax, and property tax and information returns. Perform tax planning, research, and transfer pricing analysis. Handle tax audits and tax controversy projects, special tax projects and provide support to HR concerning employee benefits tax matters. Prepare/review company federal and state income tax provisions in accordance with FAS 109/FIN 48. Essential Functions: Prepare and/or review federal and state income tax returns, estimated tax payments, extension requests, and information returns (e.g., Forms 1042, 5500) for the assigned companies.Assist in overseeing the tax compliance process to ensure timely and accurate filing of the tax returns. Assist in the preparation of tax calendar of over 2000 legal due dates and in the prioritization of tasks. Make innovative changes to tax compliance procedures and processes resulting in more efficient use of all resources.Prepare and/or review companies' year-end federal and state income tax provisions in accordance with FAS 109/FIN 48 according to Accounting Department and Ernst &Young LLP timetable. Develop and implement new tax minimization opportunities whenever possible.Act as InSource tax return processing software administrator. Prepare and/or review the assigned companies' year-end federal and state income tax provision in accordance with FAS 109 according to E&Y LLP timetable.Perform yearly transfer pricing analysis.Provide technical assistance of high priority and/or confidential, tax significant special projects.Provide a range of tax impacts and alternatives so that informed business decisions may be made by management in structuring specific business transactions.  A minimum education level of a(n) Bachelors Degree, preferably in Accounting. Required Skills: A minimum education level of Bachelors Degree, preferably in Accounting.10 plus years of experience.Possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.Master's in Taxation, CPA and member of CPA professional society, preferred.In depth knowledge and practical application of the federal and state income tax, sales and use tax and property tax laws.
