SENIOR MANAGER, STATE AND LOCAL TAX
We are a publicly-traded technology company with enormous annual growth, a strong stock price, and fantastic working environment!
We are looking for someone to manage the state and local tax function including income, sales/use, and property taxes. This is a new addition to our growing five-person tax department. Responsibilities include preparing multi-state income tax returns including supporting workpapers & quarterly estimates. The position will also, include assisting on the state aspects of the quarterly/annual tax provisions, amended returns, assisting with audits, and conducting related tax research.
We are looking for someone to manage the state income tax returns, extensions and estimated payments. With the assistance of a tax analyst, the candidate would be responsible for the day to day sales and use tax functions of the company. This will include sales tax and use tax accrual compliance, researching the taxability of new and existing products, management of the sales and use tax audits, maintaining company software to ensure the Company is compliant and using proper tax rates in the various jurisdictions, managing all sales and use tax accounts o the company balance sheet, and acting as a sales/use tax resource for internal business partners.
Other tasks include:
" Coordinate and search information for State and Local tax audits.
" Review and/or prepare response to tax notices.
" Manage sales and use tax audits of the company, as well as responding to all state/local inquiries
" Ensure accurate and timely filing of all sales and use tax compliance.
" Oversee the maintenance of Corporate Business Licenses and Sales and Use Permits and Registration.
" Research various sales and use tax issues as needed to support Company initiatives.
" Plans and manages business unit/department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
" Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
o BA or higher degree in finance, accounting or related subject
o 6+ years Big Four experience and CPA highly desired, tax department experience preferred
o Strong interpersonal skills, effective communicator and team player
