Restructuring Accounting Analyst

Position Title: Restructuring Accounting AnalystThis position reports to the Senior Manager of Special Accounting Operations and is responsible for all accounting activities related to recent restructuring actions including: Providing technical accounting support and guidance to Operating Groups regarding proper accounting treatment under both U.S. GAAP and IFRS Coordinating with Operating Groups to establish and charge restructuring accruals for approved activities  Maintaining U.S. GAAP and IFRS general ledgers for all restructuring activities for Chrysler LLC and its consolidated subsidiaries including preparation and recording of closing journal entries on a monthly basis Preparing consolidated restructuring reserve rollforward schedules by restructuring action and by location on a monthly basis. Schedules are used to support audit activities, senior management reporting and financial statement disclosures Supporting balance sheet and income statement forecast activities for Operating Groups Coordinating with external auditors on a quarterly and annual basis Assisting in the preparation of the restructuring disclosures for Chrysler LLC and Chrysler Holding LLC financial statements Ensuring overall compliance with internal control requirements including account reconciliations, documentation and testing, as required Special projects, as assignedRequired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting CPA certification Minimum of 5 years experience in Accounting or Finance including public accounting experience Strong technical accounting skills required including knowledge of applicable accounting pronouncementsPreferred Qualifications MBA or Masters in Finance preferred Previous experience with GSAP and HyperionOther Requirements Over time required at monthly, quarterly and year-end close Strong problem solving and analytical skills and ability to learn complex transactions Highly motivated person, ability to work in a time constrained environmentCompensation The ideal candidate can anticipate a competitive and attractive salary and benefit packageLocation: Auburn Hills, MI
