Union Bank of California is experiencing significant national expansion in our lending activities to both the general large corporate market, as well as a number of specialty areas such as Food and Beverage, Healthcare, Communications/Media, and Energy. This expansion has generated an opportunity to place a treasury management professional in New York City to provide local support for our east coast clients. This officer will also work closely with U.S. offices of our majority shareholder, a leading worldwide financial institution, on domestic treasury management referrals. You will assume an existing treasury management portfolio of national corporate names, and be responsible for growing that portfolio with new clients and cross-sell opportunities. This is truly a sales and service position with ongoing portfolio responsibility that includes increasing the Bank’s share of customer’s total relationship, as well as sourcing new business.
You will work directly with clients and prospects to analyze their needs and present tailored recommendations, plus respond to formal Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities. This officer will independently network with various internal bank partners such as Treasury Management Sales Consulting, Commercial Product Management and Development, and Commercial Customer Service to create innovative solutions that are industry specific for the client/prospect. You will prepare internal pricing models to deliver competitive pro forma pricing to the client, as well as work to enhance profitability of all assigned relationships.
This officer will also develop and implement a written account plan for each client, and maintain detailed tracking of all assigned clients and prospects in our proprietary customer relationship management system, Enterprise Solutions for Bankers (ESB). You are the “quarterback” to assure that clients receive superior service from all members of the team in Treasury Management Services, Commercial Customer Service, and other bank units.
We provide thorough business line training to enable our officers to comply with Union Bank of California’s Business Standards of Conduct, Patriot Act, CIP, Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, and other regulatory and compliance policies and procedures. Working with Commercial Customer Service, you will follow account opening procedures, understand and follow internal suspicious activity reporting requirements and processes, as well as understand each client’s normal account activity. You will perform related duties as assigned.
BA or BS degree, with 4 - 5 years of sales and Treasury Management Relationship Manager experience. Thorough working knowledge of the Bank's products and their benefit to the customer, Bank operations and services, and federal and state banking regulations. Requires frequent travel within assigned geographical territory. Detailed knowledge of Treasury Management products and services. Territory, calling and proposal experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include selling of bank services; dealing with customers and bank personnel in resolving operational problems, giving presentations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Rumba, Outlook, LAN AMMO and ESB.
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is preferred for this position.
The successful candidate will reside in the New York City market.
