Purchasing Specialist

Exciting opportunity for candidates with prior experience in purchasing and inventory to get your foot in the door of a major manufacturing  corporation in Central New Jersey. Primary scope of activities will include, but are not limited to order management and expediting, returns management, invoice reconciliation and supplier registration; as well as: 1. Work with requisitioners and ensure all details are entered correctly on PO's 2. Work with Shared Services to resolve past-due invoices against purchase orders created by the hub zone 3. Be the point of contact for setting up all new material numbers 4. Compare requisitions with the PL to ensure correct parts are being bought and at correct prices 5. Run reports on a weekly basis of PO's without goods receipts. 6. Work with warehouse personnel to ensure that receipts for PO's are entered in a timely manner 7. Be the point of contact for setting up new suppliers and for modifying existing suppliers 8. Ensure that SBT correct buying practices are being followed 9. Work with the PPM, project managers and engineers to ensure that district sourcing strategies are followed and that best pricing is obtained 10. Work directly with subcontractors and suppliers on obtaining the payment status on their invoices 11. Create PO's for project requirements, unrestricted branch stock, BOE items, repairs, assets etc. 12. Create PO's for returns from third-party suppliers, fill out forms and manage the return to supplier process   Required / Desired Skills   High School diploma required.Minimum of 1 year experience in procurement processes.Minimum 3 years experience in a customer service driven role. Experience in Accounts Payable is a strong plus.   This is a long term Temporary position. $16 to $17 depending on experience.  Please reply today for immediate consideration!
