Project Cost Accountant

Project Cost AccountantDescription: Volt is seeking a self-directed individual to be responsible for all aspects of the cost accounting and reporting systems for a $180M telecommunications operation. This person will ensure that revenue, Cost of Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory, Job Loss Reserves and Percent of Completion balances are properly recorded, controlled and presented to Sr. Management. " Setting up and closing projects in the ERP system." Preparing journal entries, cost and revenue accruals, % of completion adjustments & corresponding reconciliation's. " Coordinate and hold periodic project meetings with the Vice Presidents/ Directors and their staff on project related issues. " Assist in the preparation of the operations budget, quarterly/annual financial audits and help document internal corporate cost accounting procedure manuals. " Work closely with accounting, audit, operations personnel and management. " Minimal Travel Required: 25% - 30%Must utilize best practice methods and, wherever available, ISO 9000 and TL9000 quality standards and guidelines appropriate to the task. Requirements: " Bachelors Degree from an accredited 4-Year University" 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience. " Strong knowledge of job/construction cost accounting. " Excellent technical financial skills with a wide view toward business applications" Proficient in MS Excess and reasonable understanding of MS Access" Strong systems skills in database management using Excel & MS-Access. Excellent experience in job costing, AP/AR, and assisting with month end close.
