Position Summary

Princeton University seeks an individual to manage University facilities operations safety with a focus on construction safety programs related to civil engineering and maintenance activities. Duties include developing and providing construction and maintenance safety training to diverse audiences, conducting audits, surveys and inspections, incident and accident investigation and analysis, oversight of vendor services, developing written materials, and providing technical advice. Reviews effectiveness and efficiency of programs and considers and implements program improvements.



This is a three year term position with the possibility of renewal.

Essential Qualifications

Position requires B.S. degree, preferably in occupational safety, with a minimum of four years of work experience providing occupational safety services in a heavy construction and maintenance operations environment. Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) and a thorough knowledge of OSHA construction standards are highly desirable.



Understanding of relational database concepts and ability to master computer software, including Microsoft Office Professional. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly and effectively prepare and present information and training to adult learners. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, climb ladders, wear respiratory protection, work in hot and cold environments, stand for extended periods of time, enter confined spaces and work on elevated surfaces. Must have valid driver's license.



Finalist must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, background and drug check.
