Planning Analyst - Contract
The Planning Analyst (12 month contract) plays an integral role in the financial success of the market unit. He/she plays a large role in the creation of the market unit annual plan, and then in driving results to achieve it. He/she will proactively monitor trends and identify risks and opportunities as well as help develop action plans to mitigate/realize them. He/she will accurately forecast the business using analysis as well as frequent interaction with functional leaders. Success in this role will require results-driven behavior, intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking, business acumen, and the ability to be both a team leader and member.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide analytical support for Market Unit Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development
Provide accurate forecasting for all P&L items including: volume, revenue, COGS, controllable costs, and marketing
Analyze efficiencies, rates of return, cash flows, positions, productivity and other key measures that impact revenue, cost, price and volume within the regional market
Review P&L and provide period reporting
Provide weekly reporting for volume and marginal cost
Support development of CDA and Marketing forecasts and reporting
Analyze new business opportunities
Work with key functional leaders including Customer Representatives, Production Supervisors, Territory Managers, VPGM and the Finance Department
Visit store locations to understand current challenges and improve business results
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in Business, MBA an asset but not required
Ideally, 5 years, planning analyst experience in the consumer products or similar industry
Strong customer relations, interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills
Strong problem solving, planning, organizational and analytical skills
Experience in analyzing or forecasting P&L results
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Previous Essbase and Visual Basics software experience an asset
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strategic understanding of business issues
Fluently bilingual (French/English). Exceptional verbal French/English skills required
