Payroll Tax Accountant -- Immediate Need!

Our client is a leader in their industry and they are currently looking for an experienced Payroll Tax Accountant to join their team downtown.  This is a temporary position, lasting for approximately seven months.  Responsibilities:  Communicate tax compliance policies to customers who need additional assistance with accurate reporting of compensatory expenses Communicate tax implications/impact of including expense reimbursements in taxable income Identify situations requiring expense reimbursements to be included in taxable income Prepare and submit Journal entries Gather data and process accumulator adjustments for compensatory expenses that were not reported correctly Audit, review and analyze expense reimbursements of compensatory employees Explain tax rules requiring expense reimbursements to be included in taxable income Participate in planning and annual process for the tax assistance programs Respond to customer inquiries in Siebel Process true up payments/deductions from tracking database Update database with new compensatory employee data Query database reports    Requirements:  2+ years of payroll experience Knowledge of multi-state taxation and rules at employee level Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools Cyborg experience is a plus  Qualified applicants may send their resumes to MargaretLyons@mergisgroup.com for consideration.    **Driving Value through Focused Expertise Built on 30 years of experience, The Mergis Group recruits talent across multiple industries and professional disciplines.
