Payroll Director

Serving multiple industries, Parker & Lynch provides the knowledge, expertise and responsiveness necessary to build and maintain enduring relationships with our clients and candidates. Preferred Candidate will have: B.S./B.A. and CPP certification preferred, but will consider comparable work and systems experience. Minimum seven years of related payroll experience. Supervisory experience is a plus. Extensive, hands-on knowledge of payroll processing and payroll software including report writing and general ledger experience.. Experience using Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word. Excellent working knowledge of payroll-tax laws and reporting. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness. Strong interpersonal skills to handle highly sensitive and confidential information and situations, and ability to act with tact and diplomacy to effectively deal with employees at all levels, including top management. Discretion is essential. Duties include: All payroll-related functions; calculation, preparation, and payment of wages to all employees, in a multi-site and multi-state environment for a 5000+ employee organization Accurate and timely processing of liens, garnishments, and child support orders. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulatory reporting requirements; prepare quarterly federal and state tax filings, including Federal Forms 940 and 941; and annual reporting, and W2's. Reconciliation between payroll, general ledger; and projects; and preparation of accounting reports as required. Accurately and timely input of employee data including deductions and tax methods. Monitors terminated employees to remove from payroll processing Contact person for field operations personnel regarding payroll administration, as well as systems support for employees regarding field office entry. Oversee all Payroll system upgrades, modifications, and testing.
