Payroll/Benefit Supervisor - Innovator for over 80 years!

This is an excellent opportunity to become a part of one of the premier members of their industry at their world headquarters centrally located between Providence and Newport Rhode Island!  Due to a recent upgrade of this role, our client is looking to hire a Payroll/Benefit Supervisor to come in and really take charge of the various aspects of the payroll and benefit administration function.  They are looking for someone with a great attitude who has the ability to communicate effectively within a cross functional team environment, as well as the ability to work independently.  Primary duties will include: Processing and supervising weekly payroll and commissions for over 700 multi-state employees Supervise and support all payroll-related projects Collaborate with Director of Human Resources and HR Manager in establishing, re-engineering and documenting departmental procedures, systems and work flows to ensure adequate controls and efficiencies Processing new hires, administration of employee benefits, COBRA, interfacing with management, and general human resource administrationThe ideal candidate must possess: 5 – 7 years current ADP payroll processing, payroll tax & reporting experience in a multi-state environment 3 – 5 years payroll or employee benefits supervisory experience Thorough knowledge of payroll tax and payroll operations including year-end W-2 processing Proficiency with Reportsmith, Microsoft Intermediate/Advanced Excel and Word Employee benefits administration experienceFor immediate and confidential consideration, please forward your resume to thayerharris@mergisgroup.com Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
