Operational Risk Manager
Global Investment Bank is looking to add an Operational Risk Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of a centralized policy office to oversee all Firmwide and divisional policies and procedures.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Field inquiries and provide editorial guidance and support to policy authors
• Develop training material and train policy authors on using the policy template, new authoring tool (when available), and methods for creating policies
• Provide support for regional and divisional authors of policies and procedures
• Support policy approval process, review draft policies, and ensure alignment with Global Policy Mandate
• Collaborate with regions, divisions, and oversight group to socialize concepts and incorporate best practices
• Provide training for policy owners and writers to support compliance with Global Policy Mandate
• Implement and maintain Central Policy Office content, including Global Policy Mandate, communications, and Central Policy Office manual, procedures, and training
• Develop and maintain Firmwide glossary of terms and acronyms
• Manage translations of policies as requested by policy owners
• Provide content and links for the ORD intranet website with information about the Central Policy Office
This person will work closely with the Program Manager to establish and track project implementation milestones and deliverables, insure involvements and participation of appropriate personnel across Firm: front office areas, infrastructure support, and across regions.
The ideal candidate will have 5 plus years of financial experience, with three years in an operational risk function. Candidates with a background in Risk management, compliance, or legal background preferred. Candiates must have strong writing or editing background, ideally in financial services. Highly detail-oriented, with strong organizational and project management skills; Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation; Strong analytical and presentation skills, both oral and written; Technological proficiency; Solid understanding of financial services businesses.
