OPR 2658 Financial Analyst

Position Purpose 

This position, which reports to the Turbine Systems Controller, will draw upon the individual's knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Woodward's business environment and six sigma principles in providing financial accounting and analysis support.
Essential Functions 1. Analyze trends and costs associated with Aircraft products.

2. Implement budgeting guidelines for Aircraft Profit plan.

3. Responsible for Accounts Receivable.

4. Responsible for Compliance issues associated with Government Accounting.
Other Functions 

This position will be involved in supporting the following activities:

- General ledger month-end closing process, including analysis of financial results, preparation of monthly/quarterly reports, schedules, account reconciliations and related audit support;

- Sales and use tax preparation and submission;

- Inventory cost analysis;

- Cost accounting support;

- Capital expenditure approvals;

- General financial consultation within and outside of the finance organization;

- Annual budgeting and quarterly financial forecasting;

- New product business modeling and preparation of commercial and military overhead rates;

- Due diligence and other acquistion activities;

- Other special projects and activities as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 



Sound knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting theory, WISE data flows, internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, sales and use tax regulations, and Oracle GL. Knowledge of U.S. Government contract cost accounting regulations is a plus.

Skilled in financial analysis, use of microsoft office applications (emphasis on Excel), project management, new product financial modeling/analysis, preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations.

Able to communicate effectively, work independently, meet deadlines, apply sound judgment, handle multiple responsibilities, apply six sigma principles, and switch gears to work on ad-hoc projects.


Education/Formal Training Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience 

5-10 years experience in a similar position or in public accounting. CPA certification is required.
