DescriptionThe Media Analyst is responsible for interpreting sales and marketing data to create a targeted and effective media plan that addresses the client’s needs. The Media Analyst will obtain and verify newspaper data, utilize software and demonstrate independent judgment to create an optimal media analysis. This position directly helps our clients execute their marketing strategies and helps Vertis Communications achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. This position can be location in either our Clifton Park, NY, Roswell, GA, Greenville, SC or Sacramento, CA offices.Required Skills Communicate frequently with account team and newspaper contacts regarding account's newspaper insert and ROP buys Compile and maintain general newspaper data as it relates to the account Gather data from newspapers, and build data for analysis Interpret sales, customer, demographic, lifestyle and product data for purposes of creating an optimal media plan that specifically addresses client needs  Review current and future newspaper buys based on media distribution data such as location, traffic patterns, rates, competitors, etc. Build all aspects of the analysis books Utilize GIS software to create automated and customized maps of various markets related to buy analyses Establishing deliverables, expectations and timelines Participate in projects and other incidental duties as assigned Negotiate contractual rates for 3 month test rates for Grand Openings Negotiate complimentary subscription and value added ROP Quick learner, multi-tasker that can learn our proprietary system Required Experience Thorough understanding of all aspects of newspaper preprint advertising including zoning methodology, circulation rules and rate information 4 year college degree in Marketing or Business preferred One year of newspaper buying or analytics experience Strong analytical skills including the ability to interpret sales and marketing data and apply the data into a media plan Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel Experience with GIS mapping software preferred
