New York Metro Marketing Director General Description Responsibility for the successful development and implementation of marketing plans and programs that create opportunities for New York Metro Partners, Managers and Business Development Executives to acquire new clients and expand business with existing clients. Provide marketing vision and industry integration for New York Metro Assurance, Tax, and Advisory Services practices. Location: Grant Thornton New York Midtown OfficeReports to: Northeast Regional Director of Marketing & Sales, with matrix reporting to the New York Metro Assistant Office Managing Partner and Office Managing PartnerPosition Overview:Office-wide responsibilities- Align and leverage marketing plan development and execution of each industry sector with cross-industry marketing initiatives for the Assurance, Tax and Advisory Services practices. - Ensure best of breed sales presentation/proposal strategy and management among New York Metro Marketers. - Guide professional development of members of the New York Metro Marketing Team.Consumer & Industrial Products Industry responsibilities- Develop and execute marketing programs in Grant Thornton’s Consumer & Industrial Products (“CIP”) industry sector. Drive development of CIP proposal strategy and content. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Marketing Planning and Strategy- Work with Partners and Business Development Executives to develop, launch and sustain integrated marketing and sales strategies, in alignment with firm and regional strategies.- Provide marketing vision and industry integration for New York Metro Assurance, Tax and Business Advisory Services practices. - Keep abreast of local Grant Thornton markets, industry regulations, competitive product developments, competitive sales, and market share. Provide local market analyses.- Attend and contribute to New York Metro client planning and practice development meetings to gain insight into client needs.- Create/recommend positioning and key messages, in alignment with national/regional communication strategies.- Support creation of local thought leadership. Identify and utilize appropriate marketing channels for its distribution. - Create and champion cross-sell programs to assist partners and managers in identifying and selling additional services to current clients.- Tailor content of Grant Thornton national and regional marketing programs to the New York Metro market, as needed.- Provide local marketing input to development of regional marketing and business development plans. Contribute to and implement best practices from among the regional and national marketing teams. - Develop and manage New York Metro marketing budget with the New York Metro Assistant Office Managing Partner and Northeast Regional Marketing & Sales Director.- Analyze the effectiveness and ROI of local marketing initiatives.Targeting Process, Proposal and Presentation Support, and Marketing Database- Collaborate with New York Metro partners and BDEs to establish targeting parameters.- Collect information from internal and outside data sources to produce segmented targeting lists. - Manage incoming lead flow from marketing efforts. - Team with partners, BDEs and other client-serving colleagues to develop value propositions, major proposals, best-of-breed proposal content and templates, and presentation design (within Grant Thornton brand guidelines).- Guide marketers in advocating, facilitating and contributing to activities of individual partners’ pursuit teams, and their use of firm/regional best practices and tools for business development...- Evaluate needs for marketing collateral and sales tools, and serve as the creative force in developing and producing these materials.- Work with local, regional and national marketers, New York Metro Assistant Office Managing Partner, and local partners, managers and administrative staff to champion, maintain and update SalesLogix marketing and sales database. Oversee data collection to ensure that database records of clients and potential targets are as complete and accurate as possible, and provide useful information. Marketing Communications - Generate market awareness among and produce leads from clients, prospects and referral sources.- Create sector-specific direct mail programs and leverage national/regional direct marketing programs to the needs of the New York Metro marketplace.- Guide New York Metro marketers in working with New York Metro subject matter experts to conceptualize articles for Grant Thornton’s publications/newsletters for both external and internal audiences, edit copy, and facilitate publication with internal editors.- Recommend/leverage marketing/public relations alliances with key external influencers in/through, professional societies, industry and trade organizations, and banks and law firms serving our target market. Guide marketers in encouraging and facilitating individual partners’ and managers’ cultivation of their own networks... - Recommend/arrange speaking opportunities for industry partners at industry conferences sponsored by others. - Spearhead, coordinate/manage production of conferences and client roundtables. Develop conference strategy and evaluate sponsorships and marketing alliances with other organizations based on contribution to profitable revenue growth.- Develop creative briefs and press pitches, in collaboration with NE Regional Marketing Director and outside PR agency.
