Manager of International Consolidations
POSITION SUMMARY
The Consolidations Manager is responsible for the financial consolidation and of all of the companys domestic and international subsidiaries, including the creation of consolidating journal entries and inter-company eliminating entries. The Consolidations Manager maintains the legal (tax) and business unit reporting hierarchies and works with cross-functional teams to develop, analyze and distribute financial information on a monthly, quarterly and as needed basis. In addition, the Consolidations Manager is responsible for the preparation of the internal financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, business segments, and related exhibits in formats required to support quarterly earnings releases, 10Q, and annual report on form 10K.
CONSOLIDATIONS
Develop policies, procedures and timelines to facilitate the accumulation of data and consolidation process, seeking process improvement and automation opportunities.
Maintain policy for and manage changes to the chart of accounts, and reporting entity hierarchies for at least three roll-ups (business units, SEC segments and legal entity).
Provide support, administration and maintenance of the Hyperion system. Develop, test and implement changes to HFM applications as needed.
Create and maintain standard financial reports as well as design and implement custom reports to address current needs.
Maintain Hyperion user access to ensure security and compliance with licensing.
Maximize Hyperion application potential and identify innovative solutions and/or system enhancements that would improve the efficiency, quality and integrity and the companys accounting and reporting processes.
ACCOUNTING SKILLS
Must have sufficient prior experience in general accounting activity to perform account analyses, preparation of journal entries, and general ledger research.
Assist in monitoring the consolidated financial results for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies and procedures.
Understanding of FAS 52, account reconciliations and inter-company accounts.
Assist the Controllers Group and SEC Accountant in answering questions from and providing supporting documentation to external auditors.
REQUIREMENTS
Education - Completion of Bachelors Degree in Accounting, or equivalent; Completion of CPA preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Must have at least 5 years Corporate Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Analysis with an emphasis on consolidations and accounting systems. Must have at least 1-2 years of management experience. Requires experience necessary to demonstrate the capability to plan, organize, analyze, evaluate and consolidate multiple operational activities and/or makes professional recommendations using specialized knowledge of this learned discipline. Expert in computer functions such as spreadsheets, Hyperion HFM, and databases. CPA and public accounting experience a strong plus.
Language skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret GAAP accounting pronouncements, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to develop financial reports, business correspondence and reporting procedures. Demonstrates ability to understand and explain technical issues to colleagues and users. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executives, managers, remote financial controllers.
