Manager, Federal Tax Services

We are currently seeking a Manager to join us in our Tax Services practice in our Norfolk office. KPMG's Tax Services practice is a resource for clients that need help complying with the latest IRS rules and regulations. Our professionals who handle tax issues bring the experience and commitment necessary to deliver federal, state, local, and international tax compliance and advisory services to meet our clients' specific needs. Responsibilities: * Provide tax compliance and advisory services for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations for a variety of clients from Fortune 100 to emerging businesses * Serve clients within four major lines of businesses: Financial Services; Healthcare and Public Sector; Information, Communication and Entertainment; and Consumer and Industrial Businesses * Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide industry knowledge and experience * Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the first point of contact for internal and external clients * Build and manage client relationships * Manage teams of tax professionals/assistants working on client projects * Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections and the budget for projects * Advise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice * Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm Qualifications: - Five years of corporate tax experience with a public accounting firm or its equivalent - Degree in one or more of the following from an accredited college/university: Bachelor's of Accountancy, Master's of Accountancy, Master's of Taxation, or J.D. with a Bachelor's of Accountancy - Passed the CPA exam - Experience with tax provision or FAS109 KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
