MANAGER, BILLING & PAYMENTS The Manager of Billing and Payments will be responsible for the direct supervision of the Billing & Payments Department and will plan, organize and direct the activities of the department to ensure the production of high quality and timely billing statements and payment documentation for customers. This high-energy, data-savvy individual will be responsible for organizing and ensure that the department executes on its activities. 1. Direct and ensure the billing & payments department successfully processes and distributed all publisher and advertiser invoices timely and accurately based on an iterative and collaborative partnership with Account Management. 2. Will be the main liaison with the Product Management team on the scoping, implementation, and deployment of new billing and platform software releases.3. Direct and ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of customer billing data.4. Liaison with Accounting personnel to ensure that all billing and payment activity is performed in accordance and partnership with the accounting department to conform to accounting policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 5. Conduct research of billing anomalies and assist account management in customer billing inquiries.6. Direct the efforts of billing analysts to analyze and resolves problems regarding billing and payments with internal and external customers7. Develop, analyze, and report billing data via basic SQL ad hoc queries8. Develop and perform standard and ad hoc data integrity/quality control processes and validations.9. Provide managerial leadership to the billing & payments team.Typical Training / Minimum Experience: BS/BA preferred with 5 years experience in billing and payments in a high-transaction environment. Prefer experience in a software driven environment with advanced knowledge of Excel along with experience with SQL/Visual basic. Some experience in a quality assurance environment is desirable.The successful candidate must be a very detail oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills and a high bias for action. Experience in the online advertising industry is not required but helpful Influence/People Leadership:Position will supervise a team of billing analysts and payment specialists. Will have primary responsibility for overseeing special groups/projects or processes with dotted-line accountability within the company to the Account Management group VP. As a functional manager with direct reports, the successful candidate will directly leverage, influence, and have on-going access to critical, non-reporting resources. Span of Control/Complexity:The successful candidate will be responsible for complex billing projects and account reconciliations having significant scope/impact with decision-making authority that includes recommend/make decisions regarding existing or new programs/initiatives that have a significant impact to business operations/outcomes and that carry potential consequences if unsuccessful. Solutions to complex problems typically require analysis and investigation beyond what might have been applied in past experiences; problems are broadly defined and require interpretation.
