The SMART life actuarial team is the premier tax actuarial group in the United States, addressing both the income taxation of insurance companies and compliance with the tax definition of life insurance.  We are looking to expand our team of the most experienced and nationally recognized tax actuaries in the country. 

 

Responsibilities

  Develop knowledge of engagement objectives and successfully meet deadlines Maintain strong client focus and develop productive working relationships with clients Continuous learning and understanding of current business and economic developments relevant to clients  Use technology to learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery Respect and protect confidential information Bring potential opportunities to the team’s attention Seek, develop, and present ideas to apply SMART services, and bring value to clients 

Job Requirements:
BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other related degree program ASA designation under the Society of Actuaries, or related practical actuarial experience. 4+  years of actuarial experience in a consulting environment or insurance company Excellent problem solving, verbal communication, and project management skills Ability to work within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high-level of client satisfaction Manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment Strong interpersonal skills with ability to handle sensitive communications with tact and diplomacy Attention to detail and accuracy Proficient in Excel and Access or other database management software  Knowledge of programming language such as APL, C++ or Visual Basic desired. Authorization required to work in the US; SMART will not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
