Lead Accountant
Lead Accountant
The Full Employment Council, a premier non-profit organization, is seeking a Lead Accountant who will report directly to the CFO.
Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Analyze monthly Program/Project budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls.
· Lead and coordinate the month end and year end Books reconciliation and close out process.
· Lead and Coordinate the quarterly monitoring and year end Audit.
· Facilitate and lead with over all department functions as directed by CFO.
· Responsible for revenue forecasts, expenditure analysis.
· Prepare weekly cash forecast and cash drawdown and the appropriate journal vouchers.
· Monitor working Capital such as cash levels to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met and there is enough liquidity to pay weekly obligations.
· Conduct audits on internal and external service obligations fro appropriate use and coding while providing reports to local, state and federal graantors.
· Assist with the planning department in operation of budget proposals and reviewing of sub contractors proposed budget.
· Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the fields of Non profit accounting, the Federal regulations (OMB – 133, OMB -122, Circulars) and the state policy.
· Provides technical guidance and training on accounting and fiscal procedures; recommends revisions in the account structure, ledger or report formats and reporting system.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of
· Fund accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), practices and standards.
· Financial Analytical methods, forecasting and budgeting principles and practices including use of computer equipment, 10 key, application software, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
· Knowledge of Federal and state law applicable to non-for profit organization (OMB-122 & 133).
Abilities
Ability to analyze and interpret financial report information and to identify trends and/or problem areas. Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers. Maintain confidentiality. Read, comprehend and apply pertinent laws, rules and regulations. Ability to detect and reconcile discrepancies in financial records.
Skills
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Work on several assignments simultaneously, assess priorities, meet deadlines and work independently within established guild lines.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting (or related field) ; MBA preferred
· Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in professional level accounting work (an advanced degree in accounting or registration as a Certified Public Accountant may be substituted for one year of professional experience.).
· Proficient in Excel, Word and outlook.
· Must have personal transportation, driver license and auto insurance
