The selected candidates will join FirstEnergy’s Finance group and be immersed in a variety of business activities such as planning, forecasting, auditing and accounting located at one of the following electric generation facilities: Bruce Mansfield Power Plant – Shippingport, Pennsylvania Beaver Valley Nuclear Generating Station – Shippingport, Pennsylvania W. H. Sammis Power Plant – Stratton, Ohio During the initial assignment, the new employee will be provided the technology, on-the-job training, and leadership to enable them to become a valued and contributing member of the Finance team, while also learning the operational side of our business. Having obtained solid foundational skills, the employee will be ready to move on to the next phase of their FirstEnergy experience with a transfer to a new location and different financial business unit. In the new department the employee will be able to leverage their newly acquired skills and knowledge, and take on exciting challenges in another area of FirstEnergy. Participation in the program will give the employee a diverse experience in other areas of the Divisional / Corporate Controllers’ groups. The Finance – Operational Experience will: Enable the new employee to build solid business skills Work at one of the largest electrical generating facilities in the nation Engage in cross-departmental experiences Conduct analysis and prepare business plans Interact with a team of highly skilled business professionals Support the employee’s professional development through feedback and training Provide an opportunity to launch a career at FirstEnergy QUALIFICATIONS Majors: Accounting, Finance and other Business related fields of study GPA: 3.0 minimum, with prior internship and/or work in financial area Aptitude to learn complex business activities quickly and effectively manage competing priorities Solid academic understanding of financial and accounting principles Adept at analyzing information from multiple data sources to draw conclusions and make recommendations Demonstrated academic knowledge of analytical techniques and use of statistical, comparative and evaluative methods Ability to manage and complete projects successfully Proactive and results driven mind-set Leadership experience Experience working in teams Proficient in written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products Effectively interacts with all levels of professionals Legally authorized to work full-time for any employer in the United States Company: FirstEnergy Email: Apply by Email
