Job Accountant

Grunley Construction, a general contractor located in Rockville, MD is hiring seeking to hire a Job Accountant with accounting construction experience(required). The candidate will have the following experience:

Requirements:4-year degree preferred, min AA degree in Accounting.3 years experience in a construction accounting environment required 3 years of general accounting experience is helpful. Basic skills for this position require knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the accounting disciplines of job cost, accounts receivable and general ledger.  Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office and Timberline (construction software) REQUIRED Excellent oral and written communication skills

Primary role is to act as a lead support person for the Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Job Cost and Subcontract Accounts Payable functions for the company.  This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller and indirectly to the Controller.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

·  Primarily responsible for the maintenance and research of all variances contained within the Job Cost reports for The Company.

·  Prepare & distribute all monthly job cost reports to the Project Managers.

·  Enter subcontract into Timberline

·  Enter all change orders, back charges, estimate changes, to be awarded amounts, and projected adjustments into the Timberline system. Identify and resolve with the Assistant Controller those previously mentioned documents that have any errors and omissions that need to be resolved.

·  Prepares and enter monthly billings to various Joint Venture partners.

·  Enter and analyze monthly owner requisitions (accounts receivable, retainage receivable and contract revenue) into the Timberline system.

·  Assist and enter journal entries and reconcile the various companies’ bank accounts.

·  Assist in preparing various account analyses as needed.

·  Assist in preparing the Co.’s Financial Statements

·  Assist in the annual audit of the Co.’s books with the independent auditors
