International Tax Manager for CPA Firm

An international tax manager will work on a full range of international tax matters, including tax planning and compliance projects.  At this time, there is likely to be a heavy focus on international tax compliance. Responsibilities will include assisting in developing and monitoring international tax planning and analysis; performing tax research and preparing research and other memorandums; assisting in FAS 109 reporting and tax accounting, including FIN 48; managing domestic and international tax compliance, including preparation of Forms 5471 and 5472, information returns, disclosure statements and other US tax compliance requirements; reviewing foreign tax credit computations and analyze Subpart F issues; participating in review of inter-company accounting procedures and agreements and assisting with other special projects, including M&A, foreign structuring, transactional tax planning, and transfer pricing. Responsibilities will also include tax planning and tax compliance concerning domestic tax matters and domestic companies to the extent necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities concerning international tax matters and to assist with domestic tax matters for a related domestic company.

 

Qualifications include a BS/BA in accounting with a minimum of 6 years of professional tax experience with a public accounting firm, and at least three years of experience on international tax matters is required. Knowledge of federal, state and international income taxation is required. Knowledge of international estate, gift and trust matters is a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret general, financial tax and legal documents. The ability to prioritize and multi-task, along with strong organizational and analytical skills are essential. The candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and interface well with tax examiners, outside advisors and internal personnel. The candidate must have the ability to research tax law and apply results. The candidate must possess proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, and tax compliance and research software.
