Internal Auditor position with almost no travel and no audit experience necessary!

Our client looks upon their Internal Audit Department as a great place for professionals to use their accounting knowledge and learn about the many aspects of their organization, thereby preparing their Audit team members for promotional opportunities in other areas within Accounting and Finance. Management believes that the auditors are better able than most to understand the "big picture". Their industry is booming, and although their department has increased tremendously in size over the last five years, this opening is due to a promotion. Each day will be different as you work on an Audit Team responsible for operational and financial audits, and you will become involved in the planning through the execution phases of each audit. This involves interviewing management and departmental personnel to understand transaction flow, gauge organizational effectiveness, and prepare audit reports. What skills are required? You would think you must possess several years of audit experience, but that is not the case! With the belief that competent and degreed accounting professionals can learn to develop and follow an audit plan, our client has successfully hired professionals with no audit experience but who possess at least two years of general accounting experience, with a preference towards financial statement preparation experience. Public accounting professionals are encouraged to apply. Salary is based upon experience and a lucrative bonus program is offered. For confidential consideration please email your resume to Justin T. McAloon, CPA at justinmcaloon@mergisgroup.com Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
