Our client seeks a candidate with the following experience:
Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Auditor Position Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
Analyze balance sheets and income statements of multiple entities and assist in determining scope of significant accounts and disclosures to be included in the annual Sarbanes-Oxley 404 evaluation.
Assist in providing project management planning, coordination, and oversight for internal Sarbanes-Oxley project managers and external Sarbanes-Oxley consultants.
Perform various tests as needed over entity level and transaction level internal controls for financial reporting.
Facilitate (participate, control and assess) completion/update of top-down risk assessment for financial and IT areas for newly acquired and existing entities. Use the top-down risk assessment results to determine and document significant accounts, “what-could-go-wrong” risks in accounting processes, and in-scope “key” controls for the annual Sarbanes-Oxley 404 evaluation.
Assist in determining and documenting control risk and control test plans for the annual Sarbanes-Oxley 404 evaluation.
Assist Financial and IT personnel on the requirements and the Company’s approach for completing the annual Sarbanes-Oxley 404 evaluation.
Interpret, document and communicate internal controls issues to financial management, accounting and IT personnel, and external auditors.
Requirements
Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and related SEC and PCAOB authoritative pronouncements and standards
Two to five years experience in accounting, finance, and/or auditing working with revenue, expenditures, and related balance sheet transaction cycles, including experience in planning, conducting, and/or overseeing annual Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance.
Strong problem-solving skills along with strong written and oral communication skills are required
Expected to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision, using self-initiative and independent judgment
Travel of 10- 25% may be expected (leaning closer to 10%-15%).
You must have a 4 year degree and a CPA or CIA is a +++
