The Professional Internal Auditor is responsible for planning, executing and documenting audit assignments. Establishes and assesses adherence to the key controls and efficient procedures and processes in the various business lines in Canada.



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:



• Using the Business Process Auditing approach, conducts the required audit coverage of key business processes.



• Executes audit assignments to validate process performance measures and business controls.



• Sources root causes of process deficiencies and proposes solutions.



• Provides audit assurance about process effectiveness and efficiency in reference to best practices and make recommendations to improve business process performance.



• Performs reviews of Broker agents and service providers appointed or hired by Computershare to assess their compliance to regulatory and contractual requirements.



• Monitors audit findings and the timely completion of action plans and ensure that all concerns or deficiencies reported are resolved.



• Completes assignments on time and within budget, as agreed upon at the time of assignment.



• Decides on the content and substance of reports, specifically the pertinence or relevance of findings and his/her recommendations or whether to escalate the findings.



• Identifies what operating controls are lacking and are required to manage risks and support a particular product or process and participates in the development and implementation of solutions to correct deficiencies.



• Requirement to travel to various regions within Canada, at times may be on short notice.



EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:



• University Degree with a Certified Internal Audit (CIA) designation or professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CIA, CISA preferred)



• Strong and broad knowledge of Computershare businesses, products and services



• A minimum 5-7 years in operational, risk and control effectiveness techniques



• Strong analytical and problem solving skills



• Strong background in managing projects



• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills



• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications



• Demonstrated Team Player
