Internal Audit Director

We are currently performing an exclusive search for an Internal Audit Director for a rapidly growing company in the Tampa Bay area.  The position is newly created and our client is building a newly created Internal Audit Department.  Our client offers a phenomenal compensation package, outstanding benefits, excellent work/life balance and unparalleled growth potential.

 

Responsibilities:

 Spearhead the adoption of Sarbanes-Oxley Act, including identification, testing and evaluation of controls, and coordination with external auditors.

 Develops strong relationships with the existing operating business unit heads and key financial executives.

 Closely interfaces with Sarbanes-Oxley personnel directing independent testing to conform with requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley.

 

Reviews financial results by analyzing financial statements, reports, performance ratio, and trend techniques to isolate potential accounting problems.Performs internal audits to ensure that internal controls are adequate and that policies and procedures are being adhered to throughout the company. Makes recommendations to improve internal controls as needed.Maintains detailed internal control documentation for purposes of ongoing compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley including monitoring changes/updates to documentation, performing annual testing, and coordinating with external auditors. Prepares audit reports to management concerning scope of audit, audit results and/or conditions found, and recommendations for improvement.Plays a leadership role in interfacing with external auditors.

 

Requirements: 8 – 15 years of external and/or internal audit experience. SOX Implementation experience. CPA strongly preferred. Prior Big-4 experience highly desirable
