#6749 - Intermediate Investment Analyst

 

AEGON USA Realty Advisors, an AEGON company, is a leader in the worldwide insurance industry for over 40 years.  AEGON is an international pension, insurance and financial services organization.  Realty Advisors is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where approximately 3200 individuals are employed. 

 

This position will be located in the AEGON USA Investment Management, LLC., which oversees asset management for AEGON USA's operating companies.. Asset classes include public bonds, private placements, commercial mortgage loans, equities and alternative investments. Significant funds are invested in nearly every fixed income and equity sector. Offices are located in Cedar Rapids and Louisville, Ky. 

 

 The person selected for this position will be responsible for analyzing processes and implementing improvements and business efficiencies for work flows relating to asset/ derivative trading, portfolio management, and transaction processing involving the Aladdin system.  This position will interface with various members of our Portfolio Management, Trading, Operations, Risk Management, and Technology teams.  The Aladdin system includes a trade entry system, compliance, trade allocation/ order management, daily analytics, collateral management, credit management, operational reporting, mortgage processing, and position management.

 

Incumbent is responsible for:

·  Research, evaluate, and analyze data and work flow processes to develop and/ or implement recommendations for process improvement and business efficiencies.

·  Manage cross-functional resources including business and technical personnel and work through competing priorities (project management).

·  Serve as liason to the operational/ functional units for process problems and facilitate new enhancement requests.

·  Research, document, and resolve data issues and communicate issues and resolutions to end-users.

·  Increase Aladdin utilization by serving as an expert to assist with Aladdin user questions and training.

·  Representing the Aladdin users on projects impacting the Aladdin system.  This includes collaborating with the business users and IT to determine impact to systems and users, analyzing and recommending new workflows, and ensuring the changes meet end user needs.

·  Self starter who works independently with minimal guidance from other team members and management team. 

 

 Qualifications 

·  Bachelors Degree, preferably in Finance-related field. An advanced degree or appropriate professional certification is helpful.

·  5+ years experience in the institutional securities industry with working knowledge of fixed income products and investment processes.

·  Thorough understanding of investment trading systems and processes.  Working knowledge of how data flows within the Investments Division is preferred.
