Global Grants Program Manager

KPMG LLP provides audit, tax and advisory services to a broad range of clients. We are currently seeking a Manager to join us in our New York City or San Francisco office. KPMG's Global Grants Program (GGP) is a National Tax Practice responsible for the day-to-day delivery of advisory services to clients throughout the country. GGP assists grant-makers (corporations, international organizations, private foundations, and public charities) in the development and administration of their grantmaking programs, including conducting pre-grant evaluations and grant expenditure evaluations of potential and existing grant recipients. The Global Grants Program helps grantmakers develop efficient and effective grantmaking processes that comply with tax law requirements. GGP also assists established grantmakers in reviewing and/or modifying their existing grantmaking programs to help employ best practices, and operate efficiently and effectively. GGP works closely with client service personnel in KPMG offices worldwide. Responsibilities: * Develop and sustain strong client relationships with Global Grants Program (GGP) clients * Direct responsibility of the Senior Associate and Associate staff working on GGP engagements * Manage and review the GGP work performed by numerous multi-disciplinary teams in the U.S. and abroad * Prepare and/or review client deliverables, including presentations and reports * Manage project administration, including review and monitoring of budgets, billing, collection, and other contract management activities * Develop and implement GGP services, including pre-grant evaluations, grant expenditure evaluations, process design engagements, and other services as required by GGP clients * Assist in new business development, including the preparation of proposals * Provide and apply industry knowledge and experience to the GGP group and its clients * Keep up-to-date on current tax and grantmaking practices * Advise clients regarding domestic and international grantmaking, including relevant exempt organization tax issues * Develop, motivate, train, and mentor GGP and foreign office staff members * Participate in GGP administrative matters Qualifications: * MBA, CPA or similar degree in a financial area of study from an accredited college/university * Five years of tax, audit, accounting, or other financial consulting experience * Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent listening skills * Demonstrated ability to manage projects in excess of one million dollars and teams of five or more individuals * Demonstrated organizational skills including the ability to lead and manage team-oriented and complex projects * Ability to work in a time sensitive and for-profit business environment * Willing and able to travel within and outside the U.S. * Demonstrated interest in philanthropy and charitable activities * Capacity and interest to learn about U.S. tax law related to charitable giving KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
