General Accounting Supervisor

Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions is responsible for the R&D, manufacturing and marketing of a wide range of rotary drilling equipment for surface mining, deephole drilling, civil construction, waterwell, aggregate/quarry, and oil and gas markets around the world. ACDS employs about 1000 people worldwide. ACDS has it’s headquarter and main production site in Garland, Texas, USA.  We have an immediate opening for a General Accounting Supervisor.

 Position Objective

To ensure accurate financial reporting and support management through analysis.

 

Principal Responsibilities

·  Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

·  Financial reporting (PCREV, 8MCO, 1GPI, 2OP) in accordance with GAAP & FAM.

·  Monthly commission calculation and processing credit memos to Customer Centers.

·  Assist management through analysis and reporting to facilitate decision making.

·  Oversee invoicing, inter-company accounting, accounts payable and fixed assets functions.

·  Planning, budgeting, and forecasting of operational results.

·  Provide leadership and development opportunities within the financial function.

·  Insure balance sheet reconciliations are done on a monthly basis to justify proper provisions/reserves.

·  Take on special projects and drive them through to completion.

·  Create visibility of costs to the organization by maintaining a strict approval policy related to expense and capital purchases.

·  Provide leadership during the month-end close process and facilitate with reporting and explanation of results versus expectations.

·  Weekly meetings with employees to plan, organize and follow up on accounting projects.

 







Education

BS in Accounting, Finance or Economics

 

Minimum Years of Work Experience

The candidate should have a minimum of four year experience in a manufacturing environment.  Previous supervisory experience is needed.
