Fund Accountant

Position Opportunity:  Fund Accountant

 

Overview:  Successful Multi-Strategy hedge fund seeks a Fund Accountant to join the accounting team as a result of continued growth. 

 

Responsibilities:  Position will work with the accounting staff and assist in day-to-day aspects of hedge fund accounting operations including p/l reconciliation, custodian activity statement monitoring, valuation, annual financial statement preparation, reconciliation with administrator and custodians, expense accrual analysis, audit and tax support, and various ad-hoc projects.

 

Minimum requirements:



 

·  A four year degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance;

·  Minimum 1 – 2 years experience working for financial services firm or public accounting;

·  Experience with Microsoft Office products including strong Excel skills;

·  Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines;

·  Must be a reliable self-starter, possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable interfacing and reconciling with various external service providers;

·  Audit/Control minded.



 

Preferred Qualifications:



 

·  Previous fund accounting or related public accounting experience;

·  Experience with multiple investment and security instruments to include: equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, forwards, futures, options, OTC instruments, swaps, bank debt and various other derivative securities;

·  Strong technical accounting skills, including GAAP and tax.
