Full Charge Bookkeeper
O’Donnell/Snider Construction, located in the Galleria area, is a well-established and progressively successful General Contractor of commercial construction in and around the Houston area, seeking an Accountant to start no later than December 1, 2008.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
 10 yrs. Commercial Construction Accounting Management of Accounting Team Proficient with Excel, creating formulas, sorting, importing & formatting data from other sources, dealing with multiple sheets within files Self-motivated with strong analytical skills Effectively respond to management requests for information Must be pro-active, able to prioritize, and to manage multiple tasks Strong professional written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Windows Knowledge of State Sales Tax Laws regarding Commercial Construction Some knowledge of Commercial Insurance, Bonds, and Builders Risk High degree of confidentiality A proficient understanding of progress billings & ability to recognize deficiencies and work with clients' special requirements. Experience with Timberline Accounting System will be a plus, but not required.

Accounting Management: General Ledger, Job Cost, AR, AP, Payroll Extensive use of Excel spreadsheets for maintaining records Oversee activity of AP AssistantsÂ
Accounts Receivable Management: Complete & maintain records of all AIA Applications and Certificates for Payment and other types of invoices. Daily deposits online with Remote Deposit Updated system for all billings and receipts Weekly reports of AR status Occasionally become involved in Client interaction regarding collections

Payroll & Personnel Records Management: Semi-monthly process payroll Orientate all new hires on employee paperwork Management of new hire reporting and terminations Maintain various employee files.

Quarterly and Annual Responsibilities (not limited to): Work in Progress Report, typical journal entries for closing quarters & years. Workers' compensation wage reports online and manage payment. County Property Tax Renditions. Work with PEO to determine best options for insurance renewals for employees.
