Financial Analyst - Corporate Accounting

General Purpose of Job/Summary:

 

The Financial Analyst is responsible for the accounting, reporting and budgeting for select corporate investments.  Responsibilities include interfacing with SEC Reporting Group, Budgeting Group, joint venture partners, brokerage firms and external and internal auditors. 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

· Responsible for accounting of select corporate investments including joint ventures, marketable securities, mezzanine loans and derivatives

· Prepare monthly management reports including budget to actual variance analysis

· Prepare detailed quarterly and year-end supporting work-papers

· Assist in preparation of annual budgets and reforecasts

· Perform recoverability analysis on corporate investments

· Assist in the accounting analysis of pipeline and closed deals including abstracting joint venture and other deal documents

· Assist in the preparation of acquisition method accounting for qualified investments

· Assist in the preparation of Investor Presentations, Slideshows, Web-casts and other special projects.

· Oversee the completion of ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed

 

Job Qualifications:

 Strong Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to prioritize and multi-task while still exhibiting good judgment and poise in a somewhat fast paced environment.

 

Education/Experience:

 

· College Degree in Accounting

· CPA preferred

· Current accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or in the commercial real estate industry for 2 or more years
