Position Description:

The Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Ironwood finance team supporting various planning and reporting activities for the Analytical Services department. The Financial Analyst will assist in coordinating the yearly operating planning & quarterly forecasting processes and assist in developing performance metrics, while also providing financial expertise and support to a number of departments. The Financial Analyst will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting & Analysis.



Responsibilities:

- Manage the current planning, consolidation and reporting system;



- Coordinate and prepare department review packages including monthly performance reports for all key activities and programs;



- Assist in the annual operating planning process, and in partnership with other departments (program management, development, commercial, etc.) help develop and report on key performance metrics;



- Support department and project planning activities, and ensure integration of their plans into the overall corporate operating and forecasting planning processes;



- Assist in coordinating the portfolio planning & evaluation process, including key deliverables for quarterly program reviews.





Requirements :

- A Bachelor's degree in a scientific and/or financial discipline with an Master's of Business Administration preferred;



- 3 to 5 years of experience in planning, business analytics, and/or consulting in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, health care industries or for a large accounting firm;



- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement successfully, identify key issues and value drivers and translate strategic insights into an appropriate analytic and reporting framework;



- Strong facilitation and communication skills;



- Demonstrated aptitude for ERP and reporting systems, with the ability to streamline data via Excel (pivot tables or reports) to improve information content;



- Strong financial modeling skills and an understanding of GAAP accounting principals.
