Job Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development Contact Information Company: CORESTAFF Services Job Description Excel VBA/SQL Our client, a brokerage firm, located in Greenwich, Connecticut is searching for a junior Excel VBA/SQL Developer with exposure to risk management and back office business processes.They have plenty of spreadsheets developed by risk analysts, and they would like to automate their creation and integrate spreadsheet-implemented reporting functions into their proprietary risk management system. Most of the software development will be in the areas of Microsoft Office automation, data transformations with Microsoft SQL, process integration with C#/.Net, report writing with ASP.NET and Crystal. Critical part of this job is to take over support of existing spreadsheets and continue support of the reporting functions going forward. Support will include updating spreadsheets, maintenance and monitoring of related automation processes, identification and resolving various back office data errors. Requirements:- one year of software development and support in financial industry – trading desks or risk management- hands-on experience with Microsoft Office development (specifically - vba for Excel, coding for pivot tables, working with data sets)- hands-on experience with SQL programming, and C# programming- report writing with Crystal Duties and Responsibilities:- on daily basis create spreadsheets, run calculations, identify data issues, notify business groups about the issues, monitor corrective actions, verify reports/results, and distribute them- create inventory of existing spreadsheets, document their structure, data sources, and cross-dependencies- develop automation procedures to eliminate routine manual activities around spreadsheet creation/distribution processes- develop data transformation and valuation processes to replicate functionality of the spreadsheets within risk management system in a form of reports and on-demand spreadsheets- monitor relevant automation processes Education:- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering with focus on software development- in-depth courses in database design and applications- introductory courses to finance and financial engineering CareersDiscover the freedom, the flexibility and opportunity available through temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct hire assignments at CORESTAFF.
